These two trowels were used in the laying of foundation stones, one for the school in 1865 as it was being built, the other for laying the foundation stone of Adamson Hall on 6th March 1908. By that stage the hall was already half built but there was a great celebration at laying the foundation stone.

The two trowels are on display in the History Gallery.
