TitleRichard Cyril Howell sports caps and pocketsDescription
Richard Cyril Howell came to Wesley in 1895 and was a great success here. He rowed and played football, gained his Triple Colours in 1901 and was Prefect and Captain of the School in 1902. One cap was given for rowing, the other likely because he won a hat-trick in 1902 (Chronicle reference). The pockets - hand stitched- are for his Triple Colours and Athletics Champion 1901. He appears in the Football 1902, holding the football as he was the captain of the team.
HistoryRowing changed from Fours to Eights in 1901. The school colours at that time were white and pale blue, but changed back to purple and gold when Adamson arrived.Other Informationsee files notes Collection typeObjectSubject TermsRowingAthleticsFootballCategoryObjects
