When LA Adamson came to Wesley as Headmaster in 1902 he brought with him his Irish terrier Paddy. Delightful stories are told about Adamson and his dogs in the book Adamson of Wesley, including the story of birthday dinners held in Paddy's honour, at the request of a relative from England. The dogs were buried in their own graveyard, complete with headstones at Wesley under the camphor laurel trees.
